Great Expectation - Easter at Calvary!

3/28/24 | The Weekly | by Eric Wakeling

    Dear Calvary Family,

1 Peter 1:3 says that “because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great expectation.” As we tell the story of the resurrection this Sunday, we will also see what Peter says are the beautiful gifts we receive because of it. We are incredibly blessed by God with a priceless inheritance, inexpressible joy, and the salvation of our souls. We have an expectation of these things, a hope for the future and for the present. A living hope in Jesus.

We look forward to celebrating and sharing the hope we have because Jesus is alive this Sunday at our Easter services. My prayer is that you are excited to join us, but also to invite a friend or family member who needs this same hope.

Do you know someone who could use a message of the great expectation we have because of Jesus? Please invite them. Did you know that 82% of people would come to church if they were invited? And Easter is one of those seasons where they would be even more likely to attend. Don’t be afraid or feel awkward, just be warm and invitational and people will likely respond positively.

Below are all the details of the services from the Passover Seder to Good Friday to Easter Sunday. He is risen! He is risen indeed!

    PASSOVER SEDER - MARCH 28

Come tonight at 7:00pm to experience a Passover Seder and gain a deeper understanding of Jesus' Last Supper and the plan of God’s redemptive grace revealed throughout Scripture. Sign up is required - learn more and register online today by 4:00pm at CalvaryLife.org/Seder.

GOOD FRIDAY COMMUNION - MARCH 29

Begin Easter Weekend at the Good Friday communion service, focusing on the sacrifice of Christ on the cross and the hope we have beyond death through Him. Join us this Friday at 7:00pm — English/ASL in the Worship Center and Spanish in Samsvick Chapel.

    EASTER SUNDAY - MARCH 31

Our Sunrise Service at 6:00am is uniquely different from our other services and if it rains we will move it from the Courtyard into the Chapel where daylight can still be seen coming up through the stained glass.

Our Easter Service in English with ASL will be at 9:00am in in the Worship Center and Spanish will be at 11:00am in Samsvick Chapel.  At both 9:00am & 11:00am, we will have an Easter Puppet Show available for kids in Nursery-Kindergarten. Everyone else 1st grade and up will be with their families to celebrate together!
