How to Buy
How Scrip Works:
Purchase gift cards for everyday use such as groceries, movies, restaurants, gas, teacher gifts, etc. and 2-15% is donated back to your child's specified grade (one grade specified per order). Turn in your order forms to the office or your teacher with cash or a check on the due dates listed below and receive your order the following week.
Who Benefits:
Every student! Invest this year and benefits will begin September 2009. Each grade will have a "bucket" that is filled throughout the year by purchasing scrip. At the beginning of each school year, money earned in the previous year is rolled over to follow them to the next grade, (minus 10% for program expenses of shipping, printing) and will again accumulate throughout the year. When your child reaches one of the following grades the money will be divided, in September, among the entire grade and the cost of the fieldtrip for each student is reduced by that amount.
4th Grade Sacramento = 25% of total in bucket
6th Grade Outdoor Ed = 25% of total in bucket
8th Grade Washington D.C. = 100% of total in bucket
Who Can Buy:
Everyone! Grandparents, neighbors, co workers, friends, family, and businesses may purchase scrip. We strongly recommend that scrip be used within 12 months of purchase to avoid vendor imposed card fees. Any money not allocated to a grade, will go into a fieldtrip scholarship fund.
Forms are located in the school office or on Edline using your family login.
Order Due Dates for 2009-2010:
Oct 12 Nov 9 Dec 7 Jan 11 Feb 22 Mar 15 April 19 May 17
Orders are ready for pick up on the Thursday of the following week.
