Camp Fearless '09
Dear Moms and Dads,
We are very excited about our upcoming Summer Camp for kids entering 4th-6th grades next Fall. Due to the state of the economy, summer camp started to feel like a luxury many families could not justify, since the camp costs would come close to $450 per child. Our original options would have taken us either the first week of summer (when many kids are still in school) or the last week of summer (when all the great counselors are already back to college). The cost and scheduling conflicts made us realize that we need to come up with something better for your kids! We are committed to summer camp because we believe that this is an important time spiritually in the life of your child and that the investments made now have eternal benefits.
So we’ve taken things into our own hands in order to create a great summer camp experience that will work for your family’s summer schedule AND your wallet. It’s definitely a lot more work on our end but we think it’s worth it!
We are going to CAMP WYNOLA, where Calvary missionary, Keith Stringfellow, is Camp Director. We’re excited to be working with him and offering your kids the best experience possible.
Our very own Calvary Town Staff will be doing the worship and games, while creating experiences your kids will never forget. We are bringing in someone very special to be our camp speaker, Matt Hsieh (pronounced “She-ya”). If you’ve been around Calvary a while, you might remember that Matt used to be our Junior High Pastor until he became the Senior Pastor at Rancho Baptist Church in Temecula. He is an awesome man of God who LOVES kids and will do an amazing job sharing the Word with them.
Our theme for Children’s Ministries this summer is “FEARLESS” based on 2 Timothy 1:7-9 where it says,
For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control. Thereforedo not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord, nor of me his prisoner, but share in suffering for the gospel by the power of God, who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began. (ESV)
So we are calling this “CAMP FEARLESS.” We’ll be talking about how God gave us a spirit of power, love and self-control and has called us to share His story with others. We need to be FEARLESS!

In case you don’t remember, we charged $375 for camp LAST summer. We did EVERYTHING we possibly could to make this camp more affordable WITHOUT sacrificing the things that make camp exciting and memorable. We think it’s going to be GREAT!
Camp registration is now open. You’ll find us out in the patio area on Sunday mornings after both services. To sign up, fill out the enclosed registration card and bring a $100 deposit.
