God has blessed so many people here at Calvary with amazing artistic abilities, and He desires that we use these gifts to glorify Him.
Calvary artists are active in contributing to beauty in various areas of the church. Opportunities to serve include decorating, set design, floral design, and interior design.
15th Annual Arts & Craft Festival | April 21-25, 2010
We are blessed each year as artists from Calvary Church display their work during our Art’s & Crafts Festival. This is an opportunity for artists to use their talents and abilities to glorify God with the gifts that He has given them, and to share these gifts with the rest of the church body. We have artists working in so many fields; Drawing and Painting, Illustration, Sculpture, Digital Art, Photography, Quilting, Stitching, Floral Design and more.
This years show will be held April 21-25, 2010, and will mark our 15th Annual Art's & Craft Festival. There are events happening each night of the Arts & Craft Festival. Volunteer Opportunities for the show:
General:
- Artwork Drop off/Registration: Be available in the lobby to receive artwork when artists come in to deliver their work on Sunday, Monday or Tuesday.
- Gallery Sitter/Docent: Be available if visitors have any questions about the work or Calvary throughout the day.
Artistic:
- Live artistic demonstration: Work on a painting, sculpture, quilt or whatever your artistic expression is while our school kids and guests visit the gallery during the day.

Art Classes - Beginning Drawing Course
Calvary Church will offer a Beginning Drawing course on Saturday mornings in February from 9:00 am - noon in room S-6. There is a $5 course fee. This class will be taught by professional artist Stan Vosburg. Stan's work most often features warmhearted and realistic narritives which combine his love of art and aviation. His paintings have won many awards, and have even become living art in the Pageant of the Masters. Visit stanvosburg.com to see his work.
Calvary offers a variety of different art classes throughout the year. These classes give students both artistic guidance and training, while presenting the gospel in a non-threatening environment. We have offered classes in Drawing, Watercolor, Oil & Acrylic Painting and are looking into expanding what is taught based upon interest. We have been blessed by many talented artists who volunteer both their talent and time to teach these classes.
