Calvary's Leaders
Moses Castillo
Moses trusted Christ as his personal Savior at a very young age as he was raised in a Christian home by his mother in Los Angeles.
At the age of 16, while attending a youth conference, Moses felt God’s calling to be a youth leader at a local church. He attended another youth conference in 1992 where he met his wife, Liz; God’s second calling in his life.
Moses and Liz have been married 17 years this June and have three boys, Christopher 13, Nathan 11, & Jacob 5. They have been attending Calvary Church since 2005. Since that time, they have been involved in the Open Arms Ministry (Foster/Adoption), promoting FamilyLife’s marriage conferences, (Weekend to Remember), VBS and various LifeGroups. Moses has also been a guest speaker at Calvary’s Hispanic Ministry’s congregation and youth from time to time.
Moses, a 20-year veteran of the Los Angeles Police Department, (LAPD), is a detective, currently investigating crimes against children. Moses is a peer counselor and a member of LAPD’s Crisis Response Team (CRT) that responds to in-the-line of duty deaths of police officers. He was part of the CRT that responded to New York City after the September 11 attacks and was able to share the gospel and pray with New York City’s First Responders.
Moses has served as a board member at a women’s domestic violence center in Los Angeles and is currently on the board for the American Youth Soccer Organization-Fountain Valley Region 5.
