Tell us about your family...
I met my wife Linda at Bible college in Canada right after high school… after a few years of letters (the days before e-mail/web!) I brought her down to California; we just celebrated our silver anniversary! We enjoy jogging and weekly lunch out on our day off. We’re blessed with 3 young adult kids... Jocey working at Hume Lake Christian Camps, Kirstin a graduate in Visual Design, barista, and studying Graphic Design at OCC, Bryce in junior college and assistant managing at a movie theater.
Tell us how you "popped the question," or how it was popped to you.
I wrote a proposal song and sang it to her privately at her church on a snowy, December night. Made the mistake of saying “I want to marry you” in the lyric, instead of “will you marry me?”…. she wasn’t sure I was serious!
What is your favorite memory from your time at Calvary Church?
A few years ago when the power went out to the whole Worship Center in the middle of Sunday AM service… we grabbed our music/instruments and moved everyone across the patio and jam-packed the chapel to finish an unforgettable worship service in a “full” house
Who have been the biggest spiritual influencers in your life?
The top 5 men in my life: my dad, my high school band teacher, my Bible college music prof, my youth ministry mentor, David T. Moore, and my worship pastor mentor in Sacramento, Larry Roberts.
The top 5 authors: John Eldredge and Brent Curtis, Larry Crabb, Elisabeth Elliot, Charles Price
