Understanding BUDDHISM

Sundays, November 6, 13, and 20

Taught by Karl Dahlfred, Calvary missionary to Thailand, OMF

Karl and his wife, Sun, serve as church planters in Central Thailand with OMF International.  They work alongside a Thai pastor and his church to plant new churches in the surrounding area.  Karl has extensively studied the Thai language and culture.  The Dahlfreds are Calvary Missionaries on home assignment through December 2011.

 

Understanding ISLAM

Robin Morgan taught a class on Understanding Islam, Sundays at 8:45 a.m. in the Library. The class covered the basics of the Muslim faith and how we as Christians here in Orange County can share our faith with those who are now living right next door.

Taught by Robin Morgan

Robin Morgan served with AIM serveral years as Calvary Church missionary in Africa.  She used her Masters in TESOL a a means to share Christ with her Muslim students. Robin now lives in Orange County and is a professor of ESL.  She has previously taught many of our World Religion classes on Islam and Judaism.

REGULAR/SEMI-REGULAR CLASSES & MEETINGS

Understanding World Religions and Evangelism Classes

Calvary offers classes on Understanding World Religions and evangelism on an a regular basis. These classes include Buddhism, Islam, Hinduism, Animism, Judaism, and Worldview. All are taught from a Christian viewpoint.  Each class has instructors gifted in the subject and are usually free.  Contact us for more information at 714-550-2341.

Future Missionary Focus

This program is for people who are interested in persuing Global Missionary service in their future. An introductory meeting, application commitment process with handbook and assigned mentor(s) allow individual time frames for those seeking God's calling to the mission field.  If you would like to be notified of the next meeting, please contact the Missions Director, Liz Gold at 714-550-2340.

World S.P.I.N

WORLD S.P.I.N. (Sending People Into the Nations) is geared for people ages 18-30 who have a heart for missions.  We meets on a quarterly basis on an off campus location for a time of discovery.  For more information or to be added to our mailing list, contact the Missions office at 714-550-2341.

Second Sunday Mission Focus

Our Second Sunday Missions Focus takes place in both of our services each month as we emphasize what's going on around the world in missions.  Sometimes we have a special speaker, other times a video and or other mission highlights.
