Walk-In Ministry
When a sudden need arises, (whether that is food, clothing, shelter, prayer, biblical questions) and you need assistance at a moments notice our walk in ministry is available. You will be greeted by a VIPS (Volunteer In Pastoral Service) and helped and directed to meet your particular need.
VIPS (Volunteer In Pastoral Service)
VIPS consist of mature, spiritual volunteers who assist those desiring prayer and or counsel either in person or over the telephone.
Calvary members and non-members either call or come by with a variety of needs. The need may be for a sympathetic ear or for some serious prayer and counseling. Some people are struggling with life and doctrinal questions that a Christian, armed with God's Word, can answer. VIPS can help with most of these situations and can refer the rest to one of the Pastoral Staff. We also pray for all of the people on our Praying for Our Family, Calvary Church's prayer list and call or visit as many as possible.
If you wish to speak with one of the VIPS, call the Church at 714.973.4800 ext. 141. Or you can meet with a VIPS by going to the Church Office at 1010 N. Tustin Avenue, Santa Ana. The VIPS, services are available Monday through Friday from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. An appointment is recommended.
If you have an interest in helping in this area, it is important that you have:
- A love for the Lord
- A love for people
- A love for God's Word
- Some counseling experience
